12 Focus on Sustainability Sustainability Management Our sustainability philosophy and the impor- tance of environmental management are wo- ven into the fabric of corporate life at Werner & Mertz. Sustainability Management under the directi- on of Dr. Detlef Matz, who also is the Environ- mental Management Officer, has an appropri- ately high standing in the corporate structure. The head of Sustainability Management reports directly to CEO Reinhard Schneider. The sustainability philosophy is firmly anchored in the company’s guiding principles.
